Volunteer
Adult Volunteers
Adult volunteers can help the Library in a variety of ways. A few examples include shelving returned books and materials, helping with setup and cleanup for programs, and assisting with the Library's Spring and Fall book sale. Adult volunteers will coordinate with the City’s Program and Event Coordinator to connect with the appropriate volunteer trainer at the Library. Adult volunteers must complete an application, found on the Volunteer Tyler web page.
Youth Volunteers
Orientation is required to become a youth volunteer. Orientation is offered at the beginning of each school semester (fall and spring) and at the beginning of the summer break in May and/or June each year. Visit our Children and Teens page for news on upcoming orientations.
Youth volunteers help the Library and staff in many ways, including, but not limited to, program setup and cleanup, monitoring programs, and counting attendance. To be a youth volunteer for the Tyler Public Library, you must be at least 12 years of age and must fill out a paper volunteer application. Check our calendar for upcoming volunteer opportunities.
